How did it come to this

Oh I saw this boy
on that huge parking of a shopping center
crying so loud, weeping so fiercely
He must have been four or five
dressed in baggy pants and sneakers
a quilt camouflage jacket
a black and white baseball-cap
he carried a tiny skateboard in one
and a Transformers-puppet in the other arm
He stood there behind the car
not moving
crying-weeping fiercely
in anger, refusal and despair
while his mom silently paralysed
digged her nails into the open door
of the black and dead SUV-car
clueless
what to do
and how it all came to this
And I stood on the other side of some road
beyond the ever moving traffic
digging my nails into my life and memory
clueless
how to help
and how it all came to this
While the little wheels kept intertwining
and the Machine cunningly showed its venomous smile
