Built a beautiful scaffold for the runner-beans today

decorated it, beads and feathers

always feels like a sacred act

escorting, guiding life into vertical direction

adding the third dimension finally

finally in May

Mid-May, as it is supposed to be

as the Ice-saints haunt and rove the land these days

'spot-landing' the old weather-readers would say

like according to the ancient calenders still

so

I will wait for another few before

lowering the dear beans into wet warm ground

There is a heavily pregnant woman

living in the same house and garden

she...is two

and they love tending the green ones still

it is all sacred

and I love the energy that evaporates

through her hands

and their shared fruit-basket body

when she bends down to the herbs

holding

caressing the universal womb

with a long slender arm

There are two kinds of reproduction

in plant life known at least:

generative...and vegetative

so: by seed or by so-called rhizome

literally: root-spreading
