Chimney Cleaner

If I had a wish for free

and I know that I have

If I could choose a profession

and I know that I can

Then it would be

working as a chimney cleaner for God

The chimney cleaner

is some kind of ambassador saint

always welcomed and allowed

to enter any room in any house

His mission is clear:

he comes and cleans

and sweeps and brushes

every oven and chimney

that is in the house

from ashes and soot

for all the fresh fires to burn

and all new smoke

to rise and dissolve

gently into a clear, wide open sky

People would not even notice me

standing on their roofs

but deep in their hearts they would feel:

the chimney cleaner brings luck!
